Although the company has not yet published specific details about the price that the G9 model will have, it is known what some of its characteristics will be. Developed as a rival to the autopilot devised by Tesla, Xpeng’s Xpilot allows the car to perform semi-autonomous functions such as lane change. The car will also feature Nvidia’s Orin-X autonomous driving chips. Xpeng has ensured that the G9 will be compatible with its X-Power superchargers, which allow electric cars to charge up to a driving range of 200 kilometers in 5 minutes.
The G9 model from the Chinese multinational Xpeng will also feature Light Detection and Ranging or Lidar technology. These systems constantly send laser signals that bounce off obstacles in front of the car to measure the distance to them. The bouncing and returning lasers are processed by an algorithm.
