This is the reason for the open war in this video game company

0

Two Activision Blizzard shareholders filed lawsuits a few weeks ago against the well-known video game developer in the wake of the planned acquisition of Microsoft, as previously reported by subsidiary company Polygon.

One of these lawyers alleges in his lawsuit that the course of the business and the decisions made by Activision’s board of directors do not represent the best scenario for the company or for any of its shareholders, whose capital in the company amounts to several thousand millions of euros. The lawyers who have taken the multinational to court say that the board of directors is seeking to obtain significant and immediate benefits for themselves and senior management, as a spokesman for the plaintiffs has pointed out.

Uproar over the purchase of Microsoft

Another of the allegations of the lawyers who have taken legal action against their own company is that Activision Blizzard acted deceptively when it sold part of its assets to the giant Microsoft, and they accuse the firm of acting in a non-transparent manner and of hiding information , something that they claim would violate, among other guidelines, the one that governs the United States Stock Exchange.

For its part, Activision Blizzard, which remained silent for several days, finally published a statement on its website, which it spread through several of its social network profiles, assuring that they did not agree with the accusations made in the complaint that presented some of their own lawyers, and that they hoped to be able to present their own arguments before the Court that will take the case.

A round business opportunity

The famous video game development company is known all over the planet for having launched such famous titles as Call of Dutty , Candy Crush , Diablo or Guitar Hero with undeniable success. Therefore, the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft has excited many fans around the world, and most are wondering when they will be available on Microsoft devices, such as the Xbox game console.

However, before Microsoft acquired Activision, there were other companies interested in taking over the prestigious firm. Some of them are even far from having any kind of connection with the world of video games.

sexual harassment allegations

This maneuver initiated by a sector of Activision Blizzard’s corporate lawyers caused some of its shareholders to also go to court to file complaints for the same reason: the lack of transparency in the purchase process by the technology giant Microsoft.

In addition, the CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, and the company have also been the subject of investigations due to allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace, very serious accusations that have been rolling for several months through various courts and halls of justice, and that was settled just a few weeks ago with a sentence for which the company will have to pay almost twenty million euros.
