This will be the new Samsung Galaxy Watch that will hit the market this Christmas

Samsung’s next Galaxy watch will be announced at an Unpacked event before the holiday season kicks off, and its new operating system and interface co-designed by Google will be called the One UI Watch. The news was released a few months ago, at a virtual Samsung event as part of this year’s Mobile World Congress.

For now, all that Samsung has revealed about its new device for now is the software interface. The actual design of the watch remains unknown, although some recent design leaks suggest that it will be very similar to the more minimal design of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active 2 (and possibly called the Galaxy Watch 4).

Samsung’s most anticipated smartwatch

Google and Samsung announced a partnership to redesign future Google Wear watches earlier this year and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch will be the first device to feature the software. Other watches running the new One UI Watch software, including Fossil, are also expected later this year. The One UI interface promises greater and faster connectivity to the mobile phone that we have linked, and connect to more central configurations of the phone, just like the Apple Watch. Compatible apps will need to load on the phone and perform an instant cross-load on the watch.

At a first glance at the One UI, the device looks a lot like the ones made by Google. The features shown are fairly straightforward: apps that slide up, world clocks that sync between the phone and the watch, and universal settings like “Do Not Disturb” that appear on the watch and on the phone at the same time.

The One UI Watch software loads apps through Google Play, with many (but not necessarily all) Wear OS apps available for download. Samsung’s announcement confirms that well-known brands like Adidas Running, Golfbuddy Smart Caddy, Strava, Swim.com, Calm, Sleep Cycle, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Google Maps are some of the supported apps. Samsung has also confirmed that the new platform will support eSIM with LTE connectivity, just like the Galaxy Watch 3, so these new watches can be worn without you carrying your phone.

In an official statement, published just a few days ago, the company also announced that, among the novelties of the new Samsung smartwatch are a longer battery life, a much faster device performance, and a wide range of applications, including many from Google, to a completely new experience when it comes to these types of smart watches.

From the company they have hinted that their new device will have nothing to envy to the popular Apple smart watch , but that will be said by users when they try it. As for the price, it has not yet transcended what it will be, so we will not know if there will also be similarities with the iWatch, or it can be purchased at a lower price.
