Steinenbronn – After a small plane crashed in the Böblingen district (Baden-Württemberg), emergency services found three bodies at the crash site. The identities of the fatalities are still unclear, said a police spokesman.
The recovery of the bodies at the densely wooded crash site near Steinenbronn has not yet been completed. The fire brigade and rescue service were on duty there with many helpers.
The cause of the crash is unclear
According to the police, the small plane of the type “Piper” took off on Saturday morning at 9.40 am from Stuttgart airport. The cause of the crash was initially unclear, the investigations are ongoing. The flight recorder could be recovered according to the information. An expert from the Federal Office for Aircraft Accident Investigations was also at the crash site, it said.
According to an initial report by the German Air Traffic Control (DFS), the single-engine machine was on its way to Magdeburg on Saturday. According to the report, three people were on board the “Piper”, said a spokeswoman. Shortly after take-off, the pilot reported again to the control center in Langen, after which the machine disappeared from the radar. “The pilot did not make an emergency call,” said the spokeswoman. Shortly after 10:00 a.m., the plane that crashed was found in the forest near Steinenbronn.
