Toyota's multi-technology future

0

At a time of uncertainty regarding the future of mobility and in a market where the demands on emissions reduction are ever greater, car manufacturers are beginning to place their bets on the types of fuel that will move our cars in some years. Toyota, which has long since made the definitive leap towards electrification, believes in a multi-technology future, that is, it thinks that in the coming years several technologies will coexist with each other, since each of them is suitable for a different need. The Japanese brand defends the idea that the option of having any type of technology will help satisfy any customer demand, since the most convenient one can be used in each case.

And it is that the Japanese firm has become, in recent months, one of the brands that is most committed to sustainable mobility that respects the environment, and its future plans have a lot to do with continuing with this strategy of progressive electrification of its range. In this way, electric vehicles will be gaining more and more importance in Toyota, although not only will they be the ones that reach the roads, but they will have to coexist with hybrids and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, among others.

In fact, the hydrogen fuel cell is one of the great challenges that Toyota faces. This type of technology is already present in the FCV Concept and FCV Concept Plus prototypes, as well as in the Toyota Mirai. In this case, the fuel used, which is hydrogen, releases a large amount of energy when it comes into contact with air, which circulates through the batteries and powers the electric motor that drives the vehicle. This is a clean and respectful process with the environment, since the only waste that is emitted is water, so a car with this technology can be defined as a zero-emission vehicle.
