There is the next rail strike in Germany. The train drivers' union GDL wants to go down from Saturday to Wednesday. Travelers are affected nationwide.

Berlin – Deutsche Bahn is on strike again. The train drivers' union GDL announced new strikes in Berlin on Friday. Accordingly, the freight traffic will be on strike from Saturday (August 21) at 5 p.m. On Monday (23 August), passenger traffic will follow from 2 a.m. The new strike is scheduled to run until 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25th. "They are striking for more wages, to protect their pensions," said GDL boss Claus Weselsky in Berlin.
24RHEIN * reports what travelers have to consider during the strike.

The background to the strike is the ongoing tariff dispute between GDL and Deutsche Bahn. The train drivers' union is demanding, among other things, better pay and wage increases like in the public sector of around 3.2 percent. Deutsche Bahn wants to pay the required 3.2 percent, but only significantly later than requested by the union. (bs) * 24RHEIN is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
