Four men are in custody. They are accused of operating a child pornographic platform. You now have to answer in court.
Frankfurt/Main – The trial against four men who are said to have operated the child pornographic platform “Boystown” on the dark web or were involved in it began before the Frankfurt Regional Court on Wednesday. Two of the accused are also said to have sexually abused children themselves.
Right at the beginning of the trial, the court decided to exclude the public for parts of the reading of the indictment. The four accused are in custody.
According to the indictment, the internationally oriented platform had chat areas in different languages and was used for the worldwide exchange of images, most of which documented the sexual abuse of boys.
By the time the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office shut it down in April 2021, there were more than a million forum posts. The exchanged child pornographic image and video files also included recordings of the most severe sexual abuse of children, it said after the platform was closed. dpa
