The US companies United Parcel Service (UPS) and FedEx, two of the largest logistics companies in the world, suspended the delivery service to Russia and Ukraine, due to the conflict between the two countries.

While the German logistics company Deutsche Post DHL has temporarily suspended shipments to and from Ukraine and said it is avoiding Ukrainian airspace for its global operations.

Both inbound and outbound services were suspended in Ukraine, as well as deliveries to destinations in Russia, according to Atlanta-based UPS and Memphis-based FedEx.

With the exception of DHL, it is not clear whether FedEx and UPS continue to use Russian airspace as part of their general operations. None of them responded to requests for information.

DHL also did not detail whether its operations in Russia were changed and questions seeking clarification have not been answered, according to Reuters.

Logistics firms are not the only ones that have decided to pause their operations in Ukraine and Russia. Gruma, the producer of tortillas and wheat and corn flour, suspended the operations of its plant in Ukraine, after being caught in the crossfire by the deployment of the Russian army in Ukrainian territory.

Grupo Bimbo also stopped activities at its factory in the city of Dnipro for four days, in order to guarantee the safety of its 150 workers, all of them Ukrainians.
