The Palace of Versailles is one of the prides of France . Built, for the most part, by Louis XIV, it constitutes one of the most relevant architectural works in European history, where the great French monarchs spent their years until the French Revolution turned it into a cursed place that reminded of the ancient conceptions of the Old Regime.

It was years later, and although it was never the residence of the kings again, when Versailles recovered its splendor , this time for the pleasure and enjoyment of tourists, becoming one of the most visited monuments in all of France.

The grand hotel

Earlier this month, those responsible for the Palace of Versailles announced that they would open the first hotel within its gardens. This is the Hotel Le Grand Control e, which will remind its guests of how the ancient monarchs who enjoyed it lived.

It is the first hotel to be inaugurated within the emblematic gardens of Versailles and has only 14 luxury rooms . The property belongs to the prestigious Les Airelles hotel brand, which has managed to create a different hotel located in three buildings from 1681.

According to those responsible, the interior is inspired by the time of Marie Antoinette, and has been designed by the architect Christophe Tollemer. In addition, each room has been elegantly decorated in the classic 18th century style, using typical décor, colors that are in tune with the times, and works of art reminiscent of years gone by.

Sleeping in this new hotel is not cheap: around 2,000 euros per night . The rooms have been named after a relevant character in the history of France, and it has unique experiences for its guests, in addition to accessing places in Versailles that a normal tourist cannot access.

High kitchen

How could it be otherwise, the kitchen is another of the bets of this new hotel located in the gardens of Versailles. The chef Alain Ducasse, awarded with 20 Michelin Stars , will be in charge of the meals, which will be based on the typical meals of the kings of the Old Regime.

The menus include contemporary adaptations of the feasts of the monarchs, as well as being theatrical for hotel patrons. As if that were not enough, guests will have a dedicated butler exclusively for them during their stay.
