On lap 27 of the 2022 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix and after all the drivers had left the wet tires behind, even with some starting to mount the medium tires, Mick Schumacher lost control of his car in the area of the pool and suffered a strong and impressive accident.

On hard tyres, the German driver side-steered into one of the trickiest and fastest sections of Monte Carlo, and was unable to reposition his VF-22, inevitably crashing violently into the TecPro barriers.

The impact caused the Haas F1 Team car to split in two, dividing the cockpit where the driver was from the back where the gearbox is located.

Luckily, Mick Schumacher was not physically injured and was able to get out of the car on his own feet immediately. Quickly, the German reported by radio to confirm that he was fine and, once out of the car, he looked at the scene of the incident with a surprised face.

Race Direction removed the Safety Car due to the extensive damage caused by the incident, but a few laps later, they were forced to raise the red flag and send all the cars back to the pitlane, since the damage caused to the The protections were severe and the stewards reported that they had to be replaced in order to continue the race safely.

With the race neutralized and with a slower pace than expected due to track conditions, the session will resume after the safety car and the planned 77 laps may not be completed, so depending on the number of laps completed, the distribution of points could be different.
