The fifth corner of the Dutch circuit has once again been the protagonist during the 11th race of the year. This time, bad luck fell into the hands of Fabio Quartararo. The French rider fell in an accident involving Aleix Espargaró, who was at his side on the track.
The Aprilia rider was able to disassociate himself from the fall of the current world champion, and gained momentum to get back on track after managing to stay on his prototype. As a consequence, Aleix fell on the qualifying sheet, forced to make a comeback to get into the points.

Quartararo was able to get to the pits on his bike and, after a brief discussion with his mechanics, he went back out on the track. The reason behind the team’s insistence that he return to the track despite having a bike in terrible condition, was the possibility of rain coming, due to the flag- to-flag protocol that exists in the premier class.
However, this did not go the way the team wanted. The French driver would suffer a second crash , also at turn 5, and suffered a severe blow after crashing out of his prototype, although the incident was at low speed.

Fortunately, the French driver was able to leave the track under his own power and without any apparent pain, although he was visibly upset by the decision made by the team and which led to the second incident.
A few laps after the second crash, the raindrops that had waited for Yamaha began to fall and for which they had convinced their rider to return to the track with a motorcycle in less than ideal conditions.
Despite everything that has happened, Fabio Quartararo , who had just won in Catalonia and Germany, will go to the summer break as leader of the world championship, since the margin of points he had with the second classified, Aleix Espargaró , before starting the race of the GP of the Netherlands was greater than 25 points.
