The last checkered flag of the season was waved in Valencia, the season finale where all eyes were on one rider, Valentino Rossi, retiring from MotoGP. All the members of his academy paid him an unforgettable tribute by wearing their helmets in all three categories.
Pecco Bagnaia was the last winner of the year, in a race where Ducati passed the roller and served to proclaim themselves team champions. An excellent Jorge Martín finished second despite spending the night ill, while Jack Miller took third place on the podium. Without the injured Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró, for the first time since 1992 there was no official Honda team rider on Sunday.
