Video: this is how Aston Martin builds its new F1 factory for 2023

0

The Aston Martin team has been the most mediatic in recent weeks in Formula 1, and it is that a single day after the Hungarian Grand Prix, when the entire paddock was going on vacation, they announced the hiring of Fernando Alonso for the 2023 season .

In this way, the transfer market of the Great Circus became a news earthquake, since the free gap left by the Spaniard triggered a series of controversial movements and legal disputes between Alpine, McLaren and Oscar Piastri .

With the future of the Australian and the Ensonte team, which has gone from having Alonso almost guaranteed to not having a guaranteed replacement, Aston Martin is focused on its work to offer the two-time Spanish champion the best possible car.

The investment of the owner, Lawrence Stroll , is already noticeable in the atmosphere and humor of the British team, and since they know that they will have the man from Oviedo in their ranks, they have been very active on social networks. To increase the enthusiasm in the fans, they published a video in which they show how the construction of their new factory has been, which is planned to open in the first quarter of next year.

It’s clear that the fruits of the labor at the headquarters they have created from scratch will take a few seasons to arrive, although with the projects they have in mind you can appreciate the hunger to win that they have at Aston Martin.

In the fast-motion recording you can see how they start from an empty lot and build what will be called Building One, which will join Building Two, which is the team’s current base and will be demolished to put the simulator , and Building Three , which will house the wind tunnel .

Through Construction Director Guy Austin we were able to see the progress they have made at Silverstone which explains what each area will be used for. Everything is designed with special care to offer workers a suitable place to create a winning car, and they make a mention of the help they have received from their main sponsors, Aramco and Cognizant, who put millions of euros each year to continue with the growth of Aston Martin.

There is still a lot of work to do to have the factory ready at the beginning of 2023 and the wind tunnel a single year later, but the first images that they offer us from English territory give hope to a project that Fernando Alonso will try to take to the top together with Lance Stroll.
