Formula 1 and Netflix published the first trailer or video of the fourth season of the long-awaited series Drive to Survive on Monday morning, which summarizes everything that happened during the last campaign in the highest category of motorsport. The arrival of the entire series is scheduled for March 11, a week before the first F1 2022 race.

The video, which lasts just over a minute, avoids teaching the great secrets of the series, but at the same time shows important images of it, such as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s accident at Silverstone or Nicholas Latifi’s controversial incident at the last laps of Abu Dhabi, key in the fight for the title.

As expected, Mercedes and Red Bull are the main protagonists, due to the intense battle that both lived for both titles.

“Season four will once again show fans behind the scenes to witness first-hand how drivers and teams prepare to battle for victory in one of the sport’s most dramatic seasons to date. “said the statement released by F1 and Netflix earlier this month.

“Get ready to immerse yourself in the biggest rivalries, unexpected podium finishes and the intense battle for the title between Mercedes and Red Bull, with the tension at its highest level on and off the track.”

The series will once again be produced by Box to Box Films , with Academy Award winners James Gay-Rees (Amy, Senna) and Paul Martin (Diego Maradona) serving as executive producers.

The success of the first three seasons of Drive to Survive increased global interest in F1 and helped attract more audiences from around the world, primarily the United States. The third season became Netflix’s most-watched series upon its release and achieved the rare feat of surpassing the first in terms of viewership.

For another year, the film crews have immersed themselves in the circuits, capturing the best behind-the-scenes images and also covering the best stories that have taken place off the track.

This will be the first season of Drive to Survive in which the championship battle, between Verstappen and Hamilton , has reached the final race of the year. However, the Dutch pilot is not expected to actively participate in the series after assuring that he would not give any interviews to Netflix again because “it created non-existent rivalries”.
