The Australian Grand Prix returns to the Formula 1 calendar after several years of absence, specifically since 2019 , because on the last occasion in which the highest category of motorsport visited the country, a few hours after the dispute of the first free practice, the event was canceled due to the pandemic.

That day was an episode to be forgotten by the organizers, since the public was already on the Melbourne track ready to enjoy a weekend of racing, even the drivers and teams were prepared, but a positive case in a McLaren member caused the start in a domino effect that ended with the suspension of the test.

Thus, the start of the 2020 season was delayed until July in Austria, but Formula 1 never returned to Australian territory, despite having been confirmed in the following calendars. The authorities were cautious about the pandemic, so they decided not to host a grand prize due to the large number of people from different places that would cross their borders.

In the first week of April, the Great Circus will visit the Albert Park track for the 25th time, however, the track will change radically, as some curves have been modified to try to make races more exciting.

In a video published on social networks of the Australian Grand Prix, you can see the construction work of the circuit, which is open to the public as it is part of a park, and the changes in turns 1-2 and 3-4 stand out. , where the vertex has been smoothed.

For this reason, the single-seaters will be able to pass even faster, although it is in the section from turn 5, known as Whiteford , until 13, known as Ascari , where the drivers may circulate without releasing their foot from the accelerator.

The track says goodbye to the mythical chicane of the 9-10 , leaving a series of links without having to touch the brake until reaching Prost , one of the most mythical areas of the calendar.

To this we must add the changes in Ascari, a point where the line has been lengthened to benefit the DRS that is activated until that braking, and which leads to the last sector. Here only turn 15 has been retouched, where, as at the start of the lap, a smoother apex has been made.

The race will take place on Sunday, April 10 at 07:00 in Spanish peninsular time, and the single-seaters will have to complete 58 laps to know the next winner of the Australian Grand Prix.
