Pecco Bagnaia finished the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix in the worst possible way: in the gravel. The Ducati rider thus put an end to a totally fateful weekend for him, in which only on Friday was he able to show a speed in line with his aspirations.

Bagnaia’s career was in the fight to finish in the top ten, battling with Enea Bastianini and Fabio Quartararo. However, already on the last lap of the race, the Italian crashed at the second hairpin of the circuit.

Pecco lost the front end of his Desmosedici, and was on the verge of taking out Quartararo.

On the ground, Pecco began to clap his hands; an enigmatic gesture that could be due to the intense fight he had with Bastianini, a teammate, or to some movement by Fabio. At Motorsport.com we will be waiting for your statements to understand it.

However, the difficult day on Sunday could have been avoided if they had qualified in a better position. Bagnaia suffered in the Japanese rain and finished Q2 in last place, so he had to start from twelfth position.

Aleix Espargaró, third in contention in the fight for the general classification, did not have a good Sunday either, as he had to change bikes after having problems on his Aprilia during the warm-up lap.

Fabio Quartararo thus gains some oxygen in the general classification, although the differences are minimal and there are only four Grand Prix left to go.
