Viñales: "My results will arrive soon"

On the best Saturday for the Noale brand in MotoGP, Aleix Espargaró achieved the team’s first pole position in the premier class 22 years after the last ( Jeremy McWilliams ), and Maverick Viñales placed fifth with a view to this Sunday’s start in Termas de Río Hondo .

This is the best starting position for the rider from Roses (Girona) since he got on the Aprilia at the end of last year, after the controversial divorce with Yamaha.

Since his arrival in Argentina, Viñales had been warning of the step forward he thought he had taken in the warm up two weeks ago, in Mandalika.

There, the technicians found a way to give it the stability in the front end that it was looking for, to be able to enter the curves with the necessary speed and forcefulness.

His direct pass to the second qualifying round (Q2), with the second best record in the second free trial, and his fifth place in the final round seem to confirm that the improvement the Spaniard was talking about was not an illusion at all .

“We took a very big step forward in the Mandalika warm up, and the good thing is that here, in Termas, I had the same sensations, especially in the front end. The team has understood that to go fast I need stability in front”, he congratulated Viñales, aware that the journey ahead of him to feel comfortable with the RS-GP is still long, but happy to have ratified the improvement that he already experienced in Lombok.

“After one lap I still have to work because I still don’t have the confidence to push. Although the race is not going well, I am very happy with the progress made. Little by little I am getting more into the trick of this bike. The team, moreover, each understands me more.”

“My results will come soon,” continued the Catalan, who claimed to be “very happy” with the pole achieved by his workshop neighbor.
