Dogs use communication as a means of establishing their position in the hierarchy of the group , knowing the basic characteristics of the other dog, and knowing the emotional and health status of the other.
For this they produce:
• Sounds (grunting, barking, crying …).

• Physiological actions (marking with the pee, the smell, drooling from fear or stress …).
Thanks to all these forms of communication, humans can also relate to them. Their smell will not help us but we will identify what they want to convey to us from sounds and gestures. For their part, they may not understand our words (only the ones we have taught them) but they will catch our smells, postures, way of expressing ourselves and our gestures. They are so clever that they even perceive messages that we do not consciously launch. For example, they know when we are going to bathe them or when they go to the vet without us having said the exact word.
Communication with our animal is based on simple commands
And it is that our dogs can learn many orders or situations that are associated with a word, about 160 or 170 between words and gestures.
