The weather is currently showing itself from its best side, on Monday top values were cracked in several places. But the summer interlude is not of long duration.

Stuttgart – Very few people expected that the summer would make another comeback. Whether eating ice cream, going for a walk or sunbathing: on Monday, October 17, 2022, the summer showed up again briefly with fantastic temperatures. However, the outlook for the next few days is not quite as warm. However, there is still no sign of winter for a long time, although there is of course a current winter forecast.

Weather in Germany: Summer day in many regions

It was a real summer day on Monday. Meteorologists describe days as such when the temperature cracks the 25-degree mark. According to the German Weather Service in Stuttgart, this happened at ten measuring stations in the south-west. The municipality of Ohlsbach was at the top with 26.1 degrees, followed by Lahr (both in the district of Ortenau) with 25.9 degrees. 25.6 degrees were measured on Stuttgart’s Schnarrenberg.

But these are not the daily highs, said a spokesman in the evening – they were almost 27 degrees in places in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. There have also been higher temperatures in October in Baden-Württemberg in previous years. “We have an extraordinary day today,” said a weather service expert in the afternoon. Such temperatures are unusual, especially for the second half of October.

Summer intermezzo must give way to showers or even thunderstorms – mild temperatures remain

However, people in Germany should not get used to the summer temperatures, as the interlude is only short-lived. In the coming days it should remain quite mild with temperatures around 20 degrees, but not quite as warm as on Monday. In addition, the meteorologists are expecting showers or even thunderstorms in some places from this Tuesday. But for the bills, the current weather should still be worthwhile, a weather expert speaks of energy-saving weather well into November.
