A New York court sentenced Harvey Weinstein to 23 years in prison for sex crimes in 2020. Another indictment follows in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles – Ex-film producer Harvey Weinstein, who is serving a long sentence for rape and sexual assault, was charged with further sexual offenses in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
According to the public prosecutor's office, there are allegations of five women, including rape, in a period from 2004 to 2013. Weinstein pleaded not guilty in court, the authority said. He has to appear in court again at the end of July.
The 69-year-old was transferred from a prison in northern New York to Los Angeles on Tuesday. In New York in February 2020, the former film mogul was found guilty of rape and sexual assault by a jury and sentenced to 23 years in prison. dpa
