Marius Müller-Westernhagen shows up on social media while receiving a dose of vaccine in the upper left arm. His caption for the photo is short, just one word.

Berlin – The singer Marius Müller-Westernhagen (73) published a photo on his Instagram profile that shows him vaccinating – he wrote the word “freedom”.

This is also the title of his cult song from 1987. His fans rated this action on Friday as a statement in the vaccination debate – and as a defense of his music from opponents of the Corona measures.

Prominent colleagues from the music industry such as Peter Plate also commented positively on the contribution. The post had thousands of likes as of Saturday afternoon. The song "Freiheit" is considered one of the anthems from the time after the fall of the Berlin Wall. dpa
