What are the tissues of the human body and what are they?

0

The tissues of the human body are one of the most important cellular components of our body. The word ’tissue’ refers to a group of cells that are similar to each other. The union of these tissues is what shapes the organs of our body and they are divided into several types according to their function and physical structure. Epithelial tissue It is one of the most important tissues of the human body as it covers the surface of our body. In this case, it is about the skin and scalp, as well as the interior of organs and cavities. It is so important because it is a protective barrier against external elements that can damage our body. They include protection, waste excretion, stimulus uptake, and nutrient absorption. Connective tissue The functions of this tissue in the human body are also important. It is a tissue that is responsible for strengthening, maintaining and securing the organs in place. Bones and blood belong to it. This tissue is divided into several parts: Loose, Dense, Cartilaginous, Bone, Liquid and Muscular. It is one of the most abundant tissues of the human body in our organism, since it has to cover a large number of places. Nerve tissue This is the most abundant tissue in the brain and spinal cord. These cells are the longest in the human body and transmit impulses from our brain to other parts of the body and vice versa. This process occurs thanks to the use of biocellular chemicals that are often called neurotransmitters. In short, this tissue of the human body is designed to generate, process and transmit nerve signals in our body and acts as a link between neurons and glia. Muscle tissue Within this tissue we can find three types: smooth, striated and cardiac. Smooth muscle tissue is that which controls the involuntary movements of the human body. It is an autonomous movement, so we do not control it. Striated muscle tissue is that which the body can voluntarily control. It is found in 90% of the human body and is also known as skeletal muscle tissue. It allows the development of all our motor systems and locomotion. Finally, cardiac muscle tissue is involuntary as well as smooth. Unlike smooth tissue, this is only found in the heart and thanks to it, the organ can pump blood.
