After the positives for coronavirus by Sergio Busquets and Diego Llorente , the Spanish team is isolated in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas waiting if there is someone else infected. This circumstance has put both the national team, its rivals and UEFA itself on high alert, which established measures in its regulations for Euro 2020 because of the pandemic.

What do the regulations say if a team suffers a coronavirus outbreak?

  1. In the event that a group of players from a team is placed in mandatory quarantine or self-isolation following a decision by a competent national / local authority, the match will start as scheduled, provided that the team has at least 13 players available (including the minus one goalkeeper), regardless of any other provision of the relevant competition regulations, (including the deadline for the submission of the list of players). All players are eligible to represent the national team in accordance with Art. 46 of the competition and regulations and have tested negative as required by the UEFA Protocol. The additional player called to meet the minimum of 13 players needs the same requirements. Anyone who leaves the list will not be able to be registered again.
  2. If a national association is not in a position to line up the minimum number of players (i.e. 13 including at least one goalkeeper), the match, if possible, will be rescheduled within 48 hours from the date of the corresponding match. by UEFA. It will also have the power to assign the rescheduled match to an alternate location.
  3. If the match cannot be rescheduled, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) will make a decision on the matter. UEFA / CEDB will declare that the match that is not played will be considered lost 3-0 to the affected team.
  4. If any member of the referee team designated for a match tests positive for COVID-19, UEFA may exceptionally appoint replacement match referees who may be of the same nationality as one of the national associations concerned and / or may not be on the FIFA international list.
