Google has divided this small study into two categories: the words that have had the most growth and the places that have been searched the most during the summer months in some countries of the northern hemisphere such as France, the United States, Mexico, Spain and Italy, among others. Obviously each country has its tourist preferences. For example, while in Spain, the United States, France and Canada we choose the beach as the main holiday destination (according to searches on Google Maps), in the United Kingdom indoor activities such as gyms or bars prevail.
Regarding the most sought after places in the Internet giant's map service, in Spain the most successful has been the Costa Brava, followed by the Portuguese Algarve and Ponferrada . In other countries, searches are focused on nearby tourist areas, of course. For example in Italy the most sought after destination is Tuscany while in France it is the Eiffel Tower and in India the Taj Mahal. Similarly, the celebration of the Olympic Games has made Wembley Stadium and the Olympic Stadium the preferred destination in English territory.
In short, a different way of checking where people have traveled or wanted to travel through technology, in this case, Google Maps.
