What is palliative care?

0

Palliative care helps people with a serious illness, such as cancer, AIDS, heart or lung disease, feel better.

Contrary to what many people believe, palliative care is not only applied at the end of life, but also during its treatment and follow-up, and is not incompatible with the treatment of the disease.

In contrast, end- of-life care does begin after treatment ends and when it is determined that the person will not survive.

Palliative care not only addresses physical problems, such as pain, but also psychological ones, such as anxiety or depression, and even includes care for the patient's relatives
