When we speak of a psalmist we refer to a person who is a musician, composer and singer who develops his function within the scope of the Christian community. Although this definition would fall short since for the Christian and faith world, a psalmist would become much more than a simple speaker of psalms.
It is about a person who lives and his way of life refers to the Psalms of Christianity. This means that the psalmist lives according to the Word of God and all its prefects. His life revolves around the word of God, not only through his music or his musical compositions.

This king created an orchestra specialized in Christian psalms that was composed of 4,000 Levitical musicians, of which 228 were psalmists who performed an act of praise and adoration of the Lord’s kingdom.
A psalmist today
Today, a psalmist is much more than just a singer or musician of God’s Word. In the XXI century, the psalmist is a mere conductor of the word through the psalms, his function is to create an ideal atmosphere to move the Holy Spirit.
The psalmists are said to have a real function of faith in the earthly world. They play music and prophesy the word that God brings to the service of men. It is about the musicians of God who try to transmit their values through the psalms and Christian music.
They seek excellence when it comes to transmitting the word, playing their instrument and preaching the word of God. They must be in continuous confession with God and his music, in addition to transmitting the values of the psalms through their music and their singing.
The important thing in the work of the psalmist is none other than, when they sing the word of God, the important thing is the teaching and the music and their voice, no matter how beautiful, should be in the background.
