It seems that the rain does not want to take off from MotoGP. Since the paddock of the Motorcycle World Championship set foot on the Asian continent , the adverse weather has accompanied it uninterruptedly.
At the Japanese Grand Prix, the presence of a typhoon forced Moto2 Q2 to be stopped, MotoGP FP3 to be canceled and qualifying for the premier class to be delayed.
A week later, in Thailand, the rain came in the middle of Sunday’s races, again while the Moto2s were on track. The intermediate race had to be ended early, after two red flags, and the MotoGP test started an hour late.
In Australia last weekend, it seemed that they would finally be rid of the raincoat, despite the fact that much of the Phillip Island track was submerged under water on Thursday. The asphalt ended up drying out for FP1, and the rain didn’t make an appearance again… until Saturday night. The downpour was important, and continued during the morning warm ups .

Who benefits from the rain?
Based on previous results, two of the big rain winners should be Miguel Oliveira (who won two races this season in the wet) and Jack Miller. In addition, the lack of grip tends to minimize the mechanical differences between mounts, bringing out the potential of the pilot.
The most affected would be Fabio Quartararo, who does not feel comfortable in these types of adverse conditions. In Thailand, where he raced in a heavy downpour, he finished outside the points, unable to maintain a competitive pace.
