A few days ago, the United Kingdom celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, who has just completed 70 years on the British throne. During the official acts in honor of the queen, the cameras captured some reactions from Prince Louis – the youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton -, which quickly went viral and generated all kinds of comments.
In the images, the little boy, who is currently four years old, is seen making fun of his mother at some point, standing up in his seat, covering his mouth so that he could not speak or showing his anger and disagreement on some occasions.
Far from getting angry or blushing because of the millions of people who could be watching them at that moment, Kate showed great patience , focusing at all times on her son’s needs and trying to calm him down with kisses, smiles and knowing looks.

His gestures, faces and funny reactions were numerous throughout the celebration. The little boy would get up and sit down again and again, go from one side to the other in the box, cover his eyes or ears, raise his hands and point with a euphoric gesture, dance… He also had moments in which he showed his love towards his mother with tender hugs.

When children behave like children
Although in general, the reactions and behaviors of Prince Louis have been welcomed in a fun and natural way by the general public , there are also many people who have criticized his way of acting, so far from the strict protocols of British royalty.
Thus, there are those who think that the child should have behaved “better” in these important official acts, and that his mother, Kate Middelton, should have known how to control him in another way.
Such has been the media impact that the little prince’s behavior has had, that even Jo Frost, a well-known nanny and English television presenter, has analyzed what happened, positioning herself in favor of Louis and his mother.
And we can not forget that as much as we are talking about a prince, Louis is nothing more than a four-year-old boy with the needs and social skills of any child his age.
In this sense, it is completely normal for the little one to get bored and not keep their attention continuously on what is happening around them. As a consequence of this boredom, the child moves, gets up continuously, goes from one place to another, is nervous, angry and irritated, defies limits, tries to capture his mother’s attention with behaviors that have been described as “challenging” in some media…
But really, these attitudes that we see are only the tip of the iceberg ; an iceberg that hides below the surface the normal needs and demands of a four-year-old.
The applauded reaction of Kate Middelton
As for Kate Middelton’s reaction to her son , we can only applaud her as we have done on other occasions.
And it is that not only did she show infinite patience while she focused on her son’s demands -despite having millions of eyes on her-, but on some occasions she also knew how to mark the limits with firmness and kindness at the same time.
Thus, we can see that Kate does not lose her smile or her composure, and the looks of connection with her son and physical contact always prevail, even in those moments when little Louis seems to be more upset.
It ‘s certainly easy to see yourself reflected in scenes starring Kate and little Louis , especially when they take place in line at the supermarket, in a crowded park, or at a large family gathering where all eyes are on you.
