Brooklyn’s many parks offer extensive public outdoor tennis facilities. Players can choose from more than 150 public courts located in city parks throughout the district, from Williamsburg to Bensonhurst. At least half a dozen public tennis facilities also offer instruction.

Where to take tennis lessons in Brooklyn

Some of Brooklyn’s public tennis facilities, but not all courts , offer instruction.

Two neighborhoods, Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst have the majority of Brooklyn’s public tennis facilities that offer instruction. The following public tennis courts offer lessons, by appointment and for a fee:

  • Dyker Beach Park in Bensonhurst
  • John J. Carty Park at Bay Ridge
  • McKinley Park at Bay Ridge
  • Leif Ericson Park at Bay Ridge
  • McCarren Park, located between Williamsburg and Greenpoint
  • Prospect Park Tennis Center, near Park Slope, Prospect Park South and Windsor Terrace
