Hurricane Agatha, which forms in the waters of the Mexican Pacific and intensifies as the hours go by, is complicating air operations. Social network users have complained because the Volaris airline has canceled flights to and from Huatulco, without giving information on the subject.

One of the passengers who was affected by the changes in the itinerary was Marcelo Ebrard, who had scheduled a visit to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec area, but had to postpone the visit, according to Daniel Gutiérrez Gutiérrez, deputy of the entity. .

The phenomenon has been recognized in category 1 at 07:00 in the morning, when it was 320 kilometers from Puerto Ángel in Mexico. It registered sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour, and it is expected to strengthen as it approaches land.

It is expected to make a turn to the northeast in the afternoon and continue that course through Monday night. "Based on the forecast track, the center of Agatha will approach the southern coast of Mexico later on Sunday and make landfall there on Monday," the US National Hurricane Center said.

Heavy rains are expected in Chiapas and Oaxaca, as well as heavy rains in Guerrero and Tabasco. The same will be higher humidity in Campeche, Quintana Roo, Veracruz and Yucatan.

"The rainfall could generate landslides, increase in the levels of rivers and streams, and overflows and floods in low-lying areas of the aforementioned entities," the agency warned, said the National Meteorological Service of Mexico (SMN).
