Prince William * (39) welcomed ten recipients of the “Legacy Award” in Kensington Palace, which is presented every two years by “The Diana Award”. Prince Harry * (37) took on the task of speaking virtually from the screen of his adopted home, Montecito, California, to a group of award winners who are active all over the world.

In July, the Duke of Sussex traveled to London especially to be present at the unveiling of a statue of his mother *. The bronze figure is reminiscent of Diana’s life’s work and was made on the occasion of her 60th birthday. Side by side her two sons had walked the paths of the sunken gardens of Kensington Palace.

The Legacy Award is one of the most prestigious awards a young person can receive for their social or humanitarian commitment. The awards were presented for the first time in 2017 at an event in the presence of the two princes.

This year’s winners will be given a unique honor. They will receive their award on December 9th at Diana’s childhood home and family home in Althorp from the hands of their younger brother Charles Spencer * (57).
