Menowin Fröhlich has gained 50 kilos due to a torn ligament. The former DSDS runner-up currently weighs 160 kilos, which is why he wants to undergo stomach surgery. Being overweight causes him major problems in everyday life.
Cologne – Menowin Fröhlich (34) took part in the seventh season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2010 and took second place. Since then, the singer has repeatedly made headlines. He is currently causing a stir with his weight, because at a height of 1.73 meters, Menowin weighs a proud 160 kilos.

A “life-threatening” situation, as the singer himself recognizes. “Sometimes I’m afraid of just tipping over,” he says in an RTL interview. “The last time I went to the doctor, he was shocked by my values,” explains the former DSDS runner-up, because his BMI (Body Mass Index) is currently 54. A normal value would be between 18 and 25.
Menowin used to weigh 90 kilos, but after a ligament tear and little movement, he went into a downward spiral until he reached his current weight of 160. However, this now leads to major problems: “I’m just tired and exhausted all the time. I can’t even play properly with my kids or tie my shoes,” explains Menowin. A gastric sleeve operation should now help him to get rid of a few kilos.

“If I didn’t do the surgery now, I would eat myself to death. The doctors also advised me to have a quick intervention.” Since his blood values are currently still too high, Menowin Fröhlich has to be treated as an inpatient first. “In the worst case, I could bleed to death during the operation,” Menowin explains to his fans about the risks of the operation. One can only hope that everything goes smoothly.
