Two of William and Kate’s three children attended the funeral service for Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. George and his sister Charlotte were seen alongside their parents.

London – As the youngest in the Royal Family, Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (7) caused a stir with serious performances on the day of the Queen’s state funeral.

The two bravely attended the funeral service for their great-grandmother at Westminster Abbey. Solemnly and with a serious expression, the children of heir to the throne William and Princess Kate moved into the church. They walked between their parents and walked slowly behind the coffin.

Charlotte wore a black hat with a bow and a coat. She looked down a lot and kept her hands folded in front of her.

Wearing a dark blue suit with a white shirt and tie, George kept his arms at his sides and mostly looked straight ahead.

The children drove up together in the car with their mother Kate and the wife of their grandfather Charles, king consort Camilla.

During the service, George and Charlotte sat in the front row, framed by their parents – with the rather large program sheet on their laps.

Prince Louis not present at the funeral service

Kate also put her right hand on her eldest son’s left thigh to calm her down. The youngest son of the heir to the throne, Prince Louis (4), was not present at the service for Elizabeth II.

George and Charlotte completed their mourning performance in a very disciplined manner. Surrounded by the many serious adults, Charlotte seemed to orientate herself more often towards her older brother.

Her father, Prince William (40), is the eldest son of King Charles III. (73), now the first in line to the throne. He will be succeeded by his firstborn, Prince George (9). Charlotte (7) is now third in line to the throne, while Louis (4) is fourth. Only behind follows William’s younger brother, Prince Harry. dpa
