Yurts as a vacation option
Yurt vacations are a great option for people who want a little more comfort in their camping experience. Imagine waking up refreshed – no back pain from constantly bending over or sleeping on a cold, hard floor. Yurts are especially attractive if you are traveling with young children, camping in winter, or if the weather is not good, or you are simply a “high maintenance” camper who prefers not to disturb too much.
What exactly is a yurt?
Yurts are heavy-duty tent residences that originated in Mongolia and Central Asia, where they still commonly serve as year-round housing. Its basic construction is a cylindrical skeleton that supports a conical roof, covered in felt, animal skin or fabric. The yurt has been adapted in Canada and the United States primarily as recreational accommodation in campgrounds and public parks. For the most part, they have electricity, floors, furniture, and a means of cooking. Most sleep 4-6 people and cost more than a camp, but less than a hostel.
Exceptions apply when yurt rentals can range from $ 200- $ 400.
