Johann Zarco led the deployment of the Borgo Panigale brand in Austria, where he placed seven of his bikes in the top eight positions in the time table.

Zarco was 24 thousandths ahead of Jack Miller, the fastest in morning practice, and 29 thousandths ahead of Jorge Martín, his neighbor in the Pramac team workshop.

Fabio Quartararo, the current world champion and leader of the general classification, was positioned fourth, even though he was only separated by less than half a tenth of the fastest.

Pecco Bagnaia, winner of the last two Grands Prix, finished with the fifth best time, just over a tenth and a half behind Zarco.

Luca Marini was the sixth; Marco Bezzecchi, the seventh, while Enea Bastianini concluded the eighth, while Maverick Viñales (ninth) and Brad Binder closed a top ten from which Aleix Espargaró (eleventh) was left out, by only 19 thousandths.

Out of Q2 provisionally, in addition to Aleix, there are all the Hondas and Suzukis, with Takaaki Nakagami 12th ahead of Alex Rins, Pol Espargaró and Joan Mir (15th).
