Silverstone.- The Frenchman jumped off his Ducati with ten minutes remaining in practice, but had time to get on the second Desmosedici, fitted with a set of new tyres, and claim the best time. On a sunny but quite cold day, Johann Zarco beat the time with which Marc Márquez led the first practice of last year’s edition by more than a second.

The Pramac rider was only 27 thousandths ahead of Pecco Bagnaia, who also suffered a tumble, in his case in the first few laps, and Alex Rins, one of the most consistent riders this Friday morning, was three tenths ahead.

The fourth position went to Fabio Quartararo, the current champion and leader of the general points table, who practiced on several occasions the rodeo that he will have to carry out on Sunday, during the first three laps of the race, as a consequence of the sanction that the stewards imposed on him after taking Aleix Espargaró off the track.

The fifth best lap went to Takaaki Nakagami, already more than half a second behind the fastest, while the oldest of the Espargaró brothers finished sixth.

Maverick Viñales finished seventh, one and a half tenths behind his neighbor in the Aprilia workshop, and just ahead of Joan Mir, eighth.

Jorge Martín finished ninth, while Brad Binder closed a top ten from which Pol Espargaró was left out, eleventh to half tenth of the cut that discriminates the group of runners who have in their hands the provisional pass to the second screen of the timed (Q2).
