Zarco leads a MotoGP FP1 in Australia marked by the wind

Like most, the Frenchman from the Pramac team went from less to more and took the best time on his last lap. Zarco was less than a tenth ahead of Jack Miller , the local idol who, in turn, was less than half a tenth ahead of Alex Márquez , who completed one of the best practices of the season.

Fourth position went to Alex Rins , while Aleix Espargaró , fifth, was the best placed among the contenders for the title.

The Aprilia rider surpassed Enea Bastianini (sixth) by one tenth, and that same distance was what separated the Beast from Marc Márquez , who placed seventh.

Pecco Bagnaia finished eighth, seven tenths off the lead, while Fabio Di Giannantonio (ninth) and Marco Bezzecchi (tenth) closed a top ten from which Fabio Quartararo, the leader of the contest, was left out.

El Diablo was one of the most affected by the wind, especially in the first stages of training, in which he had the occasional scare, and could only be 12th.

It is also worth mentioning the 15th place of Joan Mir in the return of the Majorcan Suzuki, who has not competed since he crashed in August, in the first round of the Austrian Grand Prix.

Even more remarkable than that is the poor start by KTM, whose best position was Miguel Oliveira, winner of the last test, in Buriram, less than two weeks ago, who finished 18th, more than a second and a half behind Zarco.
