Jerez.- After completing the first six Grands Prix of the season, the last one this past weekend in Jerez, the MotoGP riders have arranged this Monday for the first official test day at the same Andalusian track.

The runners have the track available for eight hours, from ten in the morning until six in the afternoon, taking full advantage of the first half of the day, since at two in the afternoon some riders were already close to fifty laps or more , as is the case of Alex Rins, with 56, Fabio Quartararo with 54 or Joan Mir with 53.

Although the test has not stopped at any time, at two in the afternoon, halfway through the tests, the best time had been set by Johann Zarco, with a time of 1.37.136, just before suffering a crash in turn 1 without excessive consequences. Brad Binder, who also crashed at Turn 8, second and Quartararo third.

Maverick Viñales also suffered a fall at turn 7 without consequences, returning to the track after a quick visit to the mobile clinic to heal a scratch.

The one who was not so lucky was the Japanese rider from LCR-Honda , Takaaki Nakagami, who suffered a heavy crash just after the first hour of testing at turn 1, having to be evacuated to the medical center. Taka was unable to return to the track and his team reported that he will travel to Barcelona to undergo further tests as he is suffering from severe knee pain.

There was also a lot of activity in the Honda garage, where Marc Márquez had three different bikes at his disposal to work on improving the front end of the 2022 RC213V , which is causing so many problems for the Cervera rider.

The activity continues until 6:00 p.m. this afternoon, with another four hours after this summary. There is forecast of rain that can ruin the rest of the day. At the end of it, find the final chronicle here.
