Activision to launch new pistol alongside upcoming 'Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013'

‘Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013’ is in all probability the game that the lord who reigns in our country would buy himself with his eyes closed, especially if he found out that Activision is going to launch it together with a firearm-shaped controller called Fearmaster (It already did something similar with the 2011 version). The pistol is not very realistic, it is white and orange, but nothing better than sitting on the sofa and ending up with virtual animals, that the real ones are much better when they are not shot.

The Fearmaster is scarier because of the name than because of its appearance, but it incorporates something quite curious: sensors to measure our heart rate (it has two and they are metallic). So that? To give us a bit of a bag if we get too nervous. How? Well, it turns out that when it detects an increase in the speed of our heartbeats, it will send a signal to the game so that the screen becomes blurred, thus making the shot difficult.

That’s not all: the Fearmaster also comes with two other sensors to know if we are shaking. It has one on the front, while the other, and it is mandatory to use it to be able to use the Fearmaster , we will have to place it pointing towards us on top of the television. Its creators assure that accelerometers are not a good solution for this, so they have opted for this other way to detect tremors.

Those who have tried it say that it works like a charm. And being from Activision I begin to think that if the play goes well with this ‘Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013’ it could include compatibility with the Fearmaster in the ‘Call of Duty’ saga … Or what?

This controller can only be purchased with the game , which will be released in October for PS3 and Xbox 360, for $ 79.99 (the game can be purchased without it, of course). A version for Wii will also be released, but in that case the Fearmaster will be nothing more than an accessory in which to insert the Wii pad (the price of the game + accessory will be $ 59.99). No extra sensors.
