Aleix takes Aprilia to ecstasy in Argentina with his first MotoGP win

In his 200th Grand Prix in the heavy bike category, and after five and a half years of hard work since he arrived at Noale, the Catalan made good on the superiority shown in testing and qualifying, and on Sunday, in the key moment, interpreted the score to a thousand wonders.

After remaining glued to the tail of Jorge Martín’s Ducati for most of the test, the eldest of the brothers from Granollers (Barcelona) made a good third attack on the Madrid native – in the previous two he went long – to place himself in front of the peloton and open an unrecoverable margin for the Pramac team rider, who finished second. This victory also places Espargaró at the head of the provisional points table.

Alex Rins completed a podium that has placed nine different riders in the first three stops on the calendar.

Fourth place went to Joan Mir, his workshop neighbor at Suzuki, while Pecco Bagnaia, who went from less to more and came from behind, managed to cross the finish line in fifth, almost six seconds behind the winner.

Sixth place went to Brad Binder, while Maverick Viñales finished seventh, just ahead of Fabio Quartararo (eighth) and Marco Bezzecchi (ninth).

Enea Bastianini, until now World Cup leader, could not get past eleventh place.

Things were much worse for Jack Miller, who disappeared at all times, and for Pol Espargaró, who went down (lap 15) when he was running fourth, trying not to lose contact with the three in front.
