Spain has accumulated ten titles in the last eleven years in MotoGP, with three for Jorge Lorenzo (2010, 2012, 2015), six for Marc Márquez (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and one for Joan Mir (in 2020). ). The first two were devouring records and are among the first of the main statistical tables.

But the dominance of the Spanish has not been limited to Márquez and Lorenzo. Since the change to four-stroke engines, up to 15 Spaniards have stepped on the box on some occasion, the last to debut in this section being Jorge Martín. The man from Madrid was also the last to join a Spanish treble in the race.

It should be noted that in the 2013 MotoGP season there were up to ten tripletlets for Spain in MotoGP, all starring Márquez , Dani Pedrosa and Lorenzo, who also coincided on the podium twice in 2014, once in 2015 and twice in 2017 for a total of 15 triplets between the three.

The first time that three Spaniards took the podium was at the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix. On that occasion it was Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Bautista who did it. These three have been joined on different occasions by Marc Márquez, Maverick Viñales, Alex Rins, Pol Espargaró, Joan Mir, Alex Márquez, Jorge Martín and Aleix Espargaró for a total of 24 occasions.

However, taking the first three positions has not been the ceiling of the Spanish in the category, since four times –Japan 2013, Aragón 2017, Aragón 2020 and this Argentina 2021– up to four times they crossed the finish line without foreign opposition.
