Aston Martin has announced the presentation day of the car with which it will compete in the 2022 Formula 1 season, and it will be next February 10 at its Gaydon factory. The Brits confirmed this in an email to fans on Friday morning, as well as revealing the name of the car, the AMR22 .
The English team is the first to officially announce the launch of its car for the following campaign, with the premiere of the new regulations. Aston Martin will capture all eyes next February 10, day in which they will reveal the appearance of the car designed with the specifications of 2022.
Minutes after the confirmation via email, the team announced it through their social networks, indicating the date accompanied by a green heart (referring to the corporate colors), in addition to the phrase: “The road continues”.
In the publication you can see the sound of the engine of a Formula 1, and it may be that of the same AMR22, a name it will have, although it is almost certain that Sebastian Vettel will give it a different one, since he is accustomed to giving his own nomenclatures to his cars .
Another team that plans to launch its car is Ferrari, who have expressed their intention to reveal it between February 16 and 18, but the Italians have not yet confirmed anything officially. The rest of the teams remain silent, but they must have everything ready before the 23rd of that same month, since it is the day on which the pre-season tests will begin at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The teams will have six days of testing to put the new 2022 F1 cars on the track, three on the Catalan track, and another three in Bahrain, where the season will start on March 20.
Aston Martin will face its second season under that name, and its objective is to recover from the bad result of last year, where they finished in seventh place, and were surpassed by the entire middle zone.
In their first participation as Aston Martin, they managed to get on the podium at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, thanks to a second position from four-time world champion Vettel, and were able to momentarily celebrate another second place in Hungary with the German, but an irregularity with his car caused the FIA to disqualify him.
The German will have Lance Stroll on the other side of the garage, who achieved sixth place as the best result in 2021 and who continues his adventure with this structure.
