As the institute reported on Wednesday, the current seven-day incidence is 36.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week. The value had already risen slightly the day before (previous day: 35.2; previous week: 46.8). RKI * boss Lothar Wieler said on Tuesday that the incidence had apparently stopped falling, and modeling suggests a slight temporary increase. The RKI associates this with opening steps that increase the chances of the virus. With cautious openings, however, a renewed exponential growth in the number of cases is initially not expected, according to Wieler.
