The deportation of a clan chief from Bremen to Lebanon made headlines nationwide in 2019. A court has now decided that the action was illegal.
Bremen – The two deportations of clan chief Ibrahim Miri in July and November 2019 from Germany to Lebanon were illegal. The Bremen administrative court ruled on Monday, following a lawsuit brought by Miri, who lives in Beirut.
Nevertheless, the plaintiff is not allowed to enter Germany because a corresponding entry and residence ban for a total of seven years is lawful. The chamber still thinks Miri is a threat to public safety in Germany. Appeals against the judgment are possible at the Higher Administrative Court. dpa
