Ducati Repóquer at the head of the FP3 in Aragón; Marquez's first fall

0

Ducati is at its best, possibly in its history, and continues to show it every weekend, such as in the FP3 of the Aragon Grand Prix, where up to five Italian bikes dominated the time sheet. Jack Miller set the best time of the session when there were still 12 minutes left to finish the turn, replicating Jorge Martín less than three minutes to get second to thousandths, but already with the clock at zero, Pecco Bagnaia, who was leading Marco Bezzecchi and Enea Bastianini on their fast lap, placed second dragging his teammates to take the top five positions, a clear warning of the intentions of Pecco, second overall, and Ducati for this season finale.

The first non-Ducati bike was that of Brad Binder, sixth despite suffering a crash, with Miguel Oliveira seventh and the World Championship leader, Fabio Quartararo, eighth. The top 10 was closed by Takaaki Nakagami as first Honda and Alex Rins; all of them go directly to Q2.

They will have to go through the Q1 repechage Aleix Espargaró, who is fighting for the championship but has been left out of the top ten, Marc Márquez, who finished 12th and suffered his first fall after the comeback (11th of the season), Johann Zarco , who was 15th, Joan Mir and Maverick Viñales, who, like his teammate Aleix, was far behind.

In addition to Marc, there were falls for the Binder brothers, Rins and also Cal Cruthclow, who returned to competition a year later due to the departure of Andrea Dovizioso.

Márquez, who already had an incredible save at the beginning of the session, with 23 minutes to go, crashed at turn 7, on the right, destroying the bike and the suit quite a bit, but the rider returned to the box immediately to go out on track with the second bike. At that time he was 8th in the FP3 times, but after mounting the soft rubber to attack the times he was unable to complete a clean lap and fight to get into Q2.
