"It doesn't look good", says Joan Mir after finishing FP3 with problems

The Suzuki rider explained on Friday at the end of the first day of the Aragon Grand Prix that he was going to test this Saturday, in FP3, before deciding whether to abandon the weekend due to the pain caused by the injury to his right ankle , which prevents him from piloting normally.

After the third free practice, in which he finished 17th, which would force him to go through Q1, M otorsport.com was able to speak with Joan Mir, who assured that “things don’t look good”, in reference to his injury and the limitations it causes you in driving.

“I can’t drive well, my leg (right, the one with the injury) vibrates and that makes me constantly touch the brake, that’s how it shows up in the data and that doesn’t allow me to drive properly”,  express.

Suzuki implemented a kind of double brake lever in the foot to have a more stable base, but the solution could not improve the problem.

“It’s not so much because of the pain as to be able to have better brake control, but it hasn’t solved the problem, which is the vibration of the leg due to the injured tendons.”

Mir’s intention was to finish the grand prix, but he doesn’t know if that is the best solution right now.

“We are going to speak with the doctors, the physios and with the team and we are going to make a decision before FP4, the problem is that on Monday we are already going to Japan, so there is not much time to recover”, said the champion of the world 2020, which was not very optimistic about the options to continue competing this weekend.
