0

In the middle of the digital age, practically every day we meet new challenges that quickly become viral on social networks. Some are fun and we face them with gusto, but there are others, like eating frozen honey , that are very dangerous. The challenge has been dubbed ‘Frozen Honey’, which literally means ‘Frozen Honey’.

It is a challenge that has become a trend in the last week , and experts warn of the many dangers that it entails for health. Carrying out it is the simplest thing in the world: it is as simple as buying honey packaged in a plastic bottle and putting it in the freezer for at least 12 hours.

After the time has elapsed, it is ingested while, of course, the “feat” is recorded for sharing on social networks. The creator of this challenge is Daveyrz, a tiktoker with more than 5.5 million followers . It usually shares content with viscous substances, so one day he decided to try eating frozen honey.

In the video you can see how he squeezes the bottle just out of the freezer and takes a bite of the honey , which has a viscous texture, very similar to that of toothpaste. The tiktoker then adds different colorants to the honey to make the video more ‘fun’.

It seems that eating frozen honey has been liked a lot on social networks, and other tiktokers have joined the challenge.

But what are the dangers of eating frozen honey? Dietitian Sarah Rueven has spoken to the ‘New York Times’ newspaper and has been very clear about it. As explained, eating honey in large quantities can have many negative effects such as stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting and dental problems due to the high sugar content.

“When you eat something that is so high in sugar, you are going to have an equally high insulin response”

Therefore, as fun as it may seem to make a viral video and gain followers on social networks, the truth is that it is not worth risking your health .
