The Williams team presented its new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season after 2:00 p.m. in Spanish peninsular time on Tuesday, February 15. Despite the fact that a few minutes before an image of what would be his FW44 was leaked, the Grove team maintained the same programming, and through a video on their social networks they showed the decoration of the car.

The team’s director, Jost Capito , confirmed that the car revealed in the recording was a virtual model with the colors of this year, and that the real one would be in Silverstone to carry out one of the two filming days that are allowed by regulation.

The reason for not making the presentation with the FW44 , as the manager himself stated, was that they could not have the car ready to film and, at the same time, take it out on the track.

With Nicholas Latifi at the controls, those from Grove put the FW44 on the asphalt for the first time, although they had to be quite careful because the track had a lot of water. On his Twitter account, Williams uploaded some images that showed the final appearance of the car, which will not have the stickers in tribute to Ayrton Senna , something that has not happened since 1994.

The British team had 100 kilometers of testing at its disposal on the English track, and it will not be until the next pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya when we will see them ride again. On February 23, together with the rest of the teams, they will embark on the new adventure that Formula 1 faces, with a renewed technical regulation designed to improve competition and increase the number of overtaking.
