Grupo Posadas made a payment of 174,062,426 pesos to the Tax Administration Service (SAT) as part of a resolution of the lawsuit against a fiscal credit corresponding to the 2006 fiscal year.

In a statement sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the company assured that with the payment the “differences in interpretation” related to the audit, which is part of the reviews carried out by the SAT in various fiscal years, are ended.

“Grupo Posadas maintains its commitment to comply with its fiscal obligations, for the benefit of public finances,” said the country’s largest hotel company in the document.

This payment is part of several commitments that Grupo Posadas has agreed with the tax authority since 2017, for fiscal years dating back to 2006.

In October 2021, the company paid in advance a credit of 450 million pesos contracted last March for a term of five years, which was used mostly for the payment of the eighth annuity of an agreement signed in 2017 with the SAT after recognize an additional payment obligation for 2,452 million pesos derived from different fiscal years.

Of this amount, the company settled 612 million pesos in that year, under an agreement to settle the rest between 2018 and 2023.

“The company reiterates its commitment to maintain its strategy of saving expenses, costs and optimization of its operations, to continue providing high-quality services to its guests in all its hotels,” the company said in a statement at the time.

Grupo Posadas recently closed its restructuring under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code, a process that began in October 2021.

By 2026, the company expects to increase its pre-pandemic revenue by 40%, with a sales flow of 658.2 million dollars, according to its restructuring plan.

The company expects to recover its pre-pandemic sales level for this year by accumulating revenue of 481.2 million dollars. Starting in 2023 and ending in 2026, Grupo Posadas is aiming for an average annual growth of 8%.
