Miller: "I don't notice any difference with the appendages"

Although Jack Miller’s start to the season did not meet expectations, it seems that after announcing his departure to KTM the results are showing up again. In the German GP he was on the podium, and in the Netherlands he was in the fight for fourth position.

Now, at Silverstone , he has managed to get his Ducati on the front row of the grid, rising to third position with a time of 1’57.931 .

“Today the whole world has flown”, recognized the Australian in the press conference after the official training sessions. “It’s been the perfect weekend, with good conditions, and you can go faster and faster. That’s why we’ve been able to break the circuit record.”

And it is that, in Q2, up to eight pilots managed to roll below the absolute record of the track, in the hands of Marc Márquez since 2019.

“I crossed the finish line thinking that it was a good time and that if I tried to improve it I was going to end up falling. But then I saw Johann Zarco’s time and I thought ‘my mother, impossible to beat!’ Hats off, because he is very one lap fast”, declared the Ducati Team rider.

Miller, however, has been pleased with his return. “On such a long circuit, with fast corners, slow corners, changing wind… setting the perfect lap is difficult. But getting a semi-perfect lap has been fantastic.”

The Aussie is aiming for everything tomorrow as he feels he is improving “session by session”. “I’m really looking forward to it tomorrow. It looks like it’s going to be hot, and tire choice is going to be a determining factor. Johann had good pace on the hard rear in FP4, and I did better on the medium. …”.

He also made statements regarding the appendages introduced by Ducati this weekend on the tail of their Desmosedici. Miller was very direct: “Honestly, I don’t feel any difference. The only thing I feel is that when I put my leg over the tail, I have to be careful,” he joked.

“It is quite unusual for a factory team to let a rider who is going to leave the team have new developments. But at Ducati they have been honest with me throughout the process, and we already know that giving their bikes everything they have is something It’s in your DNA.”

“It’s a fantastic thing from Gigi and the whole team, and it’s something I appreciate very much. There is nothing worse than not receiving improvements. They have been transparent with me and they will support me until the end.”
